West Coast is the Weed Coast

By: Tree Wr3x

As summer comes to an end, the reflection of adventure and Cannabis smoke in the rearview, I find myself with that same summertime sadness feeling. Some people like the fall and winter, but I am not one of those people. Ha ha. Not everything worked out as planned, but we make the best out of things and move forward and prepare for the next. Positivity and finding the silver lining has been a goal of mine this year through all the ups and downs and along the way through those hard times we found ourselves in some happy places. I was able to visit family and travel through some of the areas I spent my childhood during the summer. It was a flashback in time to some degree. I also met some new people along the way and created more memories.

Highway 101 is a fun road to take along the West Coast.

I found myself on the state line of Oregon and California at state line Cannabis.

Very friendly staff and right off the road. This spot is very convenient to grab something on the go and continue your way.

There was a great selection to choose from, and I was treated with the upmost respect and kindness. I went with some garlic icing and Lodi Dodi flower, a variety of pre-rolls and a 2 g disposable vape cartridge of some forbidden fruit. One of my favorites and I am still using it a month and a half later. Mainly because I have been saving it. If you’re ever in the area, I would most definitely stop and say hi to the folks there. The next place I visited along the way was crisp in Eureka California. I was originally scheduled to perform, but the travel complications derailed that. I was still able to visit family and made an appearance to say hello to the staff.

Comparable to other cannabis clubs in Oregon, I find that the attendance is very low. The atmosphere was very mellow and there wasn’t really anybody there when I was there. I spoke with the owner who told me that they have been dealing with this lately. They are not the only club that struggle with attendance. The NW Cannabis Club in Portland went out of business after the pandemic because of low attendance and membership. Crisp does not have a membership fee and they are also a dispensary, so you can purchase your product and then consume. The one thing I wasn’t so fond of was, you have to have a budtender, serve you your medicine. So if I wanted a dab, they had to serve it to me even though I purchased it and can do it myself. It’s not really a complaint but more of a personal preference. All in all I enjoyed my time and will return when I come back to the area next.

Until then, keep tuning back into Cannabis legalization news for all things Cannabis.
