The world is a little less dank as r/trees stays offline in solidarity with other mods. Reddit wants free labor while creating democracy, and that doesn’t work.

r/trees, if you don’t know, is a subreddit dedicated to all things cannabis, except on Sundays, where you can’t post memes.

The Reddit CEO decided to make free labor, labor performed out of the altruistic concept of the internet, part of their business model, and that’s not how things work.

One sub of stoners is not going to end Reddit, but bad decision-making on limiting a site co-created by Aaron Swartz (look him up).
